Champions Academy of St. Lucie County is committed to the safety and welfare of every student. This page explains how educator and employee misconduct, and suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect, should be reported.
All employees and agents of Champions Academy of St. Lucie County have a responsibility to report misconduct by instructional personnel, educational support employees, or school administrators when that misconduct affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student.
This responsibility applies regardless of the employee's role, and reports should be made promptly once misconduct is known or suspected.
Reports of misconduct should be directed to the school's designated Compliance Coordinator.
Failure to report known or suspected misconduct may result in disciplinary penalties, up to and including termination of employment, and, when applicable, revocation of an educator's certificate.
Florida law places an affirmative duty on all employees to report actual or suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Reports made in good faith are protected, and Florida law provides immunity from liability for individuals who report in good faith.
Employees also have a duty to fully cooperate with any child protective investigation that follows a report.
